Does anyone know how and when to service to auto tranny in the 05 v6 stang? The manual has no service interval and there is no means to check fluid, obviously requiring an OEM flush rig.
The 5R55S does not require any service unless it is driven under severe conditions. There is no dipstick and flushing does require a special adapter on the pan. My company remanufactures this unit for Ford. It is a very rugged unbit that was derived from the 5R55N used in the Jag. Sealed transmissions seem to be the wave of the future. BMW, VW, and others have been doing the same for a while.
So the auto tranny never needs service or fluid change? The service manual states service every 30K miles for other tranny's, so the 5R55S is unique and rugged enough to not need routine service??
