yesterday was not a good day i went to my 86 four cylinder to go to work and wire grounded out and starter kept crankin yanked the neg batt terminal to get it to stoop no big deal just a work car but still pissed me off so i jumped in my 86 5.0 to goto my parents house to get one of there cars cause i cant drive the 5.0 around it just has longtubes and x pipe on it so its way to loud and when i shifted into 3rd it popped out i put it back in and started vibrating tranny is shot so what should i do i knew it was gonna happen eventually but didnt think now help please

If the 4 pot has a T5, yank it out and pick up pilot bearing BCA-202SS from your local parts store (rent a bearing puller while your at it), swap the bearing, toss in the 4 pot 5 speed and enjoy.

It's a cheap solution for now. You can either drive the '86- shouldn't be that loud unless you have no mufflers- until you can rebuild or buy a new V8 T5, or you can leave it as-is and pick up another 4 cyl. T5.

i was looking for more along the lines if i could rebuild it are if it would be better to buy a new one if so what kind i plan on building the motor and the 4 cyl is my daily work car
