All oils are flamable, be it mineral, synthetic or vegetable.

Look at pics of older ('60's) funny cars that used modified, production automatic transmissions. Lots and lots of them had big trans explosions followed by big trans fluid-fed fires.

I once had an '84 mustang 4 cyl and the tranny yolk leaked fluid on the catalytic convertor. I was 17 and my mom happened to be driving my car at the time when it caught on fire. Needless to say, they thought that it was dangerous and picked up that bill to have it fixed.

I hooked up the 2 hoses from the control valve to the slave cylinder backwards one time.

When I fired the engine up and grabed the steering wheel to bleed the air from the system the back lash from the control valve going nuts cause the fluid (trans fluid) to spew out of the pump and cover my driver side header...I had a very large fire.

On a side note I've never ran so fast in my life (for the fire extingusher)

My friends tranny caught fire while we were driving. We had no fire extinguisher, but luckily the house down the road gave us a gallon of water. Scariest day of my life.
