As I posted a while back I got a TKO swap done to my car and I don't like it. It's got a Lakewood sfi approved bellhousing with matching aluminum driveshaft and steeda shifter. I don't like how notchy it is and it's noisier than hell, how it moved up towards the console and the biggest thing I don't like about it it's that when I'm doing 60mph in 5th gear, the rpms are at 2,000 rpms and that's with stock gears.

So I was wondering what you guys think I should do. I have a friend that has a T56 off a 03 Cobra with 6K miles on it and he says he'll sell it to me for $1,250. Where can I get the kit to install that to my car and how much is it?? Will the tko bellhousing work with the T56? Or I was thinking of going with a Gforce tranny with a low 5th gear so I can install steep gears and call it a day. Which of these two should I do??

For you guys that have 03 Cobras how do you like the way the T56 shifts??? Is 6th gear really an double overdrive gear or is it just like the 5th gear in the T5s in terms of ratio??

I will not do another TKO of any sort and a viper spec T56 is out of the question do to the mula thats involve to get one. Thanks for any input.

Try D & D Performance.

Phone: 1-248-735-6220

Call them up & see if they will sell the kit, minus transmission. That sounds like a decent deal on that T-56. You might could talk him down a little, too. G-Force would be nice, too.

You must have got a messed up tranny. My roommate has a TKO-500 and its quiet, a little notchy but i liked driving it. Also it has the same 5th gear ratio as a T-5 so you should be at the same RPM as stock, unless somehow you got the version with the .82 OD. Maybe you should contact the person you bought that trans from
