I am trying to swap a 03 3650 into my 96 gt, does anyone know what wiring issues/differences there will be, I ordered an extended range speed-cal, will that be all that is needed to use the 3650?

biggest issue is going to be picking up speedo pulse off of electric speedo sender, and convert it to mechanical pusle so that 96 ECU can read it. And also i thought there were some difference in belhousing?

i think you better off just get TKO500. Its pretty much bolt on

I was kinda hoping that fixing the speedo thing was what the extended range speed-cal did, based upon its description on the website, but i could be wrong. I know i have seen people with 3650's in their cars, so it is plausible, I just need to figure out how lol.

Heres a link to the speed-cal:

Any help is appreciated

Hummmm May be. All i know is that pre 99 use speedo gear to read speed, and post 99 use electro magnetic pulse generater to read speed. But above unit says "Extended Range SpeedCal is for owners of 96-98 Mustangs who have installed 99-04 manual transmissions". So may be its is all you need...
I would call and ask man

I am swapping the 3650 into my 97 cobra. From what I have heard it is pretty much plug and play. I guess you need a driveshaft yoke from a new gt though. And I havent checked out how they mount differently either. But they may not.

Are you sure that a newer GT drive shaft yoke is needed? I hadnt heard that one before, and comparing the two wiring harness right now in front of me, some of the connectors are definitly different (ie pins in different places etc) I know it can be done its just a matter of working out all of the little issues. Thanks for the help so far, if anyone else knows anything that could help me out, I would really appreciate it, thanks
