Hi, my 96 GT's transmission occasionaly grinds on the 1-2 shift and i was told that by changing to a synthetic transmission fluid that it may help that, my question is which transmission fluid should i switch to? Any help is appreciated.

I run Mobil 1 synthetic tranny fluid in mine with a Steeda Tri-Ax and have never had any trouble with it. If it continues to grind, you may have more serious problems than what type of fluid you are using.

An aftermarket shifter helps, unless you have one already. As for the oil Any good synthetic might help.

Ya, I am thinking that it may be a more serious problem then just the transmission fluid, but i want to try everything else before i give up the money to get a new synchro set put in. Thanks for the help, I will let everyone know how it goes.
