Transmission Problem

ive had this problem for a while..i have an auto but i have to put it in 2nd b4 i put it in drive cuz when i start off in drive its like its in neutral .. i think it skips 1st gear..but my mechanic told me its because my gears need to get lubed and i just got my cable lubed 2day n he said its gonna take time before it takes affect..do u think its because of my gears needing to get lubed or should i just rebuild my trans?...ne1 have this similar problem or know wth 2 do? lol

what gears are your mechanic talking about? have you checked your fluid, was it been flushed recently with a new filter? what is the condition/level of the fluid. does it smell heavily burnt?

take to a reliable transmission shop,could be a bad 1-2 soleniod or bad sealing ring or clutch,do you have manual low? personally I wouldn't trust that mechanic,sounds like he's talking out his arse

ya take it to a good transmission shop, btw that does not include AAMCO. you mechanic sounds like he is a total moron when it comes to transmissions.
