Hey guys i was just wondering if anyone had put a TKO-500 into a '71-'73 Mustang before or if it would fit? Or if you know any other classic mustang sites that would better ask about. Please give me any info you might have thanks guys.
Yes it fits without tunnel mods. I had a TKO-600 in my 71 ( I now have a Richmond 6spd), and PushRod Power has one as well. What would you like to know?

Awesome. Did you have to use one of the other shifter mount locations or did it stay on the one in the back? Right now i have a bellhousing to mount it to my 5.0 does he need to buy a different bell housing? What bell housing did you use to put the TKO on to your 351C?
I forget what the shifter position was at. As far as the bell housing, you can use stock Ford bells or aftermarket Ford bells as long as the tranny has a shortened input shaft. Otherwise if the shaft is not shortened, you will need an adapter/spacer that is readily available from many vendors.
When bolting directly to the stock Ford bellhousing the driveshaft length for the TKO is the same (or within a 1/4") as the toploader. I laid the two side by side and couldn't find or see a measurable difference.

Select the t-5 option, although there a lot of other cool how to's for these cars. Call Brian Gluck if you have any questions. I've talked to him several times and he has always been gracious with his time.
