I have a triax and love it but dont have anything to compare it to other than the stock unit. I've heard people who have had both say that the Pro-50 is better so I would go with that.

The Triax and the Pro 5.0 just happen to be the most available and marketed. Just like everything else people are going to say that whatever they have is the best and everything else sucks. I say, be different, and look into the others listed above. Some of them look much nicer than the Triax and the Pro.

Not only better, but cheaper, and possibly more ergonomic (so you dont have to swap handles and such). A performance advantage is never gained over your competition by following the crowd.

MAC shifter...hahaha. Definitely do NOT consider that one; I've seen 2-3 people go with the MAC to save money and they ended up preferring the stock shifter.
