tri-y header installation ?

how difficult are a set of tri-y headers to install on my 66 fastback 289. do any of you have pics of your install or know a site that has godd pics and instructions.

Not difficult at all man. Just unbolt your stock exhaust, unbolt your starter...and slide them up from the bottom. You will have to remove your spark plugs too. If you have stock manifolds, you will have to have some custom work done to your Stock Hpipe or whatever other pipe you have to your mufflers......if you have long tubes already, you will be fine.

I got my passenger's side Tri-Y in from the bottom and the driver's side in through the top.

Tri-Y's go in pretty easy. Make sure you get a quality set. They have a lot of "welds" and the heat cycles will sometimes cause the welds to fail. I finally did away with mine and got the long tubes.

Be sure to get a good set of locking header bolts. The Tri-Ys like to come loose and its a pain to keep torqueing them down every couple of weeks.
