I've also heard these heads come loaded with nice valves, and will be priced under 2000 grand. A cheaper, better head fully put together for around the same price as a set of ported fox lake or other PI heads.

I'm not trying to be the bearer of bad news, but on the depot posting, they are saying there is no way these are under the $2K mark. That is even from the MD guys who will be selling them. I hope they are wrong! But even at a little over $2K or so, these have HUGE potential. I love how they reworked the chambers (which there will be two size options) and changed the valve location.

No Problem man! I was just saying what Ken, the owner of Modular Depot said himself today, though I do agree it might be hard to get under 2grand. Eitherway, I don't own a stang so it doesn't matter to me. Just trying to pass on some good info.

Ken has always stated that they will be over $2000.00, and that they will be priced similar to the good ported heads with quality parts. You will not find a good set of ported heads under $2000.00.

It has been done, there is a 432 RWHP 5.0L Big-Bore N/A 2V 5 spd Mustang out there. That said, 400 RWHP N/A 2V Automatic is my new goal and I think I might be able to achieve it especially if I can get a full 1 point bump in Compression( 10.5:1 Compression Ratio to 11.5:1 Compression Ratio ).

What is real nice about these new heads is that they have a great N/A head flow right out of the box. Apparantly, you can keep them at the same Compression ratio level as a PI head or a bump up.

I do think that for the 2V market, these heads will be the ticket...

Thanks for the correction, just reread the post!

As I stated earlier, I didn't think they would be under 2g's. Thanks for the clarification.

Just think of it this way.

Instead of spending 4k on a blower to make 370 rwhp.

You can spend 4k on trickflow heads, long tubes, and a badass set of cams and make near that n/a

That still might be hard. 9's on motor with the stock displacement is a tall order. It will bring the stang much closer to ls1's with stock heads though.

They aren't going to come cheap so I doubt we will see many guys running them. There will always be a few and I am sure we all will look upto them and drool over their numbers

Why?

If you could make comparable numbers n/a vs supercharged than I would be n.a

If those heads were out a year ago when I was about to spend 3k on my blower setup I could have very easily went n/a

My point is that anyone with a 4k blower kit could afford to go that route.

I dont know why your acting like theyre so expensive...I mean most of the guys on here probably have 2k dollars worth of BS mods.

I know I do

I likely have atleast that tied up in misc mods, however $2000 is just a baseline at the moment--we aren't even sure as to what the final price will be. Just buying the heads isn't going to be the only thing needed to get the most from it so it would be pretty simple to throw a large amount in the car.

I have to agree with Maddox. While I see your point, Justin, about going NA vs. FI, there just aren't that many people modifying these cars anymore when compared to 5-6 years ago.

However, I can't wait to see what kind of numbers Ken and the other guys can get out of these heads. Hopefully they do sale and we can finally get a large majority of the NA guys into the 12's and even more into the 11's than we already have.

With that said, I'm wondering about tuning issues with these heads. I doubt the stock tuning will work. Will probably have to have the car dyno tuned to get everything to work out. Pearl02.

I really think so. Atleast with a cam only LS1....now any good Head package LS1 and he will win.

But to hang with cam only guys....you really will probably need a built, light weight bottom end with 11-1 compression to run with them.

Bolton LS1s? Sure, without a doubt. throw on those heads with a nice set of cams....and you will wax most Ls1 Fbody cars and even the LS2 GTOs.

yeah, i ment stock, or bolt on ls1's, but a ls1 with H/C/I, is a bad mofo, but 99.9% of ls1's i see are just bolt on cars, so that will give us better chances againt them
