Good kit. You can get the price off of Summit. Don't get too lazy here.

To get the 350 or 360hp out of that kit i believe you have to have your block bored. On the trick flow website it says it was tested on a 306 i think.

edit- I looked it up but i can't seem to find where it says that. I swore i read that about the kit. oh well looks like i am wrong. Still a good kit imo.

You're right! They got rid of that part. It was tested on a 306 with some fuel mods I believe.

The Trick Flow kit is great, IMO, and is what I plan on doing once the money comes in, or my girlfriend decides to be really nice. With the Trick Flow kit, and a solid tune, with possibly switching to 24 lb/hr injectors with calibrated MAF, I've heard that you can expect around 300 at the wheels. May not seem like a whole lot but, for a top end rebuild that comes with everything needed, it's not bad at all! Throw a 100 shot on that and call it a day.

The difference between a 306 and 302 will be negligible.

For the money you can piece together a better kit. I had that kit years ago before it was offered as a kit. It works fine for the average enthusiast but you can piece better stuff together.

How do you figure? The AFR 165 is an entry level head, with stock port heights and valve angles. Anything bigger with an AFR, and you have to notch the pistons. The Trick Flow you can run a bigger valve and a bigger valve due to the inproved valve angles.

Does the larger valve of the tfs have a negative effect on cam choices?Speaking stock stuff.

Not really. It generally gives you more power with available cams. I remember the good old days when we used to notch the pistons while they were still in the engine, and still in the car. I think Lunati still sells the notching kit, although that isn't as common of a practice now.
