On Saturday afternoon, my g/f and I packed up the Stang with a few goodies and headed out to the mountains for a weekend of beautiful weather and driving. Saturday we headed to Seneca Rocks, then on Sunday we drove up Skyline Drive for about 70 miles. What a blast! It wasn't too hot, so we could could comfortably cruise(posted speed limits were mostly 35)without burning up. Traffic was light enough that a few times I could run her in a few of the twisties(took a video). I did all of the mountain driving with O/D off(4th gear). During the video clip, most of that was in 2nd and 3rd, letting her wind out to around 6500 RPM(I wasn't watching the speedo at all, just glanced at the tach a few times). The whole trip I still averaged just under 20 MPG. Anyways here are the pics and video...ENJOY

WOW! Nice pics Dawg. Is that Green? All we have out here is brown and taupe. lol. Most things are dead by now.

I love the sunset pics and especially the ones of the Stang with the sunset bouncing off the paint.

Nice camera - Nice shots and nice to see you having a nice time.

Thanks for the comments
I really enjoy riding through the mountains. A moderate cruising speed just enjoying the scenery is very relaxing to me. Hopefully after I retire(20 years ), I'd love to move to someplace in eastern Tennessee in the mountains.

Not exactly sure, could've been brakes although I wasn't that hard on them(being in 2nd and 3rd gear, I had a bit of engine braking), maybe carbon buildup or even the trans? That is the most at one time I've pushed my car. Granted the 6 times I went down the 1/4 mile was all WOT, but it wasn't as taxing as several minutes straight running her at and near redline along the twisties.

I don't think I could get tired of the scenic mountain views(as long as the roads are clear from snow and ice). I did have a blast! I want to go back again and again and again!!!!!

Thanks Apex I absolutely love getting out of the nasty traffic and just cruise peacefully. Fortunately there are a ton of roads and great places to do that and aren't more than an hour away from me.
