Got a call from my dealer yesterday. He said I they're taking orders for the infamous TripTunes now, but was unable to give me an actual ETA. I cut and pasted some info from http://www.fordaccessoriesstore.com -- $50 bucks beats the best price I've seen for the PIE adapter. I wonder why the 05 isn't listed.

TripTunes™
Part Number: 6R3Z-19A464-AA
MSRP: $50.00

Take your tunes on the road! Now you can connect portable audio players (MP3, iPod,® iRiver,® SanDisk,® etc.), plus portable CD and cassette players, right to your in-dash radio. Just plug your player into the harness – a 3.5mm stereo connector provides the interface so you can listen to music through the radio’s speakers and control the volume. Audio connection is housed securely in your vehicle’s glovebox or center console. "Dealer Installation Recommended"

Fits:
Ford Mustang 2007 2006

Has anyone seen one of these? I am being told it is an FM modulator. If that's so, it sucks. You can replace your head unit with an Alpine for $200 that has built in controls for the ipod, charges it, etc. and also is satellite radio ready and plays mp3 files. I'm thinking about changing head units to get what Ford should have put in the Mustang to begin with.
