Trouble Code P0442

I just installed O2 sensor eliminators, check engine light went off, it's been off for a few days now, then it came back on. I got it checked with a code reader and got the code P0442 (Evaporative emission system) small leak/no flow condition. I've checked all lines for vacuum leaks with brake cleaner, checked my fuel cap and took out the O2 eliminators to see if that was it. No joy. Anyone have anything else I should check or replace? Engine still runs fine and haven't lost any power, the light came on after I stomped on it pretty good, but no change in engine performance.

I give up. What model year are we dealing with?

This DTC can be a real PIA. My suggestion. Reset the code and see if it comes back.

If it does come back, focus on the evap lines around the gas tank. Inspect the filler neck for rust out.

Just went through a p0455 on my car. Was a hairline crack going into the charcoal canister right back by the gas tank on the passenger side, extended some hose and fixed it just like that.

Check the gasket where the filler neck goes into the tank.

They're not always easy to find but if you can lay your hands on one, a "smoke tester" can often prove very handy for finding evap system leaks.

I agree with checking the tank seal at the filler neck. If it's not that, try to put smoke into the system and see where it's leaking out. Here's an example of it being done on a Jeep:

So I took the vapor canister off and opened it up, in the little box where the plug goes in was all caked up with dirt and the foam was all tore up, so I put some new foam (whatever it is) in it and erased the code, guess we'll see if that works. Thanks for the replies. Got new pics up of the car with the new rims on it and drag radials.
