TrueTrac Time!

Okay, I am just about ready to install my Detroit TrueTrac. Here is what I have so far:

Girdle
Bearings
Shims
Axle Seals
TrueTrac
Redline Gear Oil, Synthetic, 75W90.

Question: How much gear oil do I need? I can find nothing on the capacities! Also, is the 75W90 optimal? Anything else I need?

I'm very interested in getting a t-lock or posi or true trac.... im new to all of these things and was wondering where to buy these at good prices. I WANT to be able to spin both wheels for a burn out and i will be adding a supercharger when their available so which should i get for both of those??? Also if you think your detriot true trac is the way to go for those needs can you point me in the direction of where you bought it??? Thanks and i hope everything works would with your true trac!:nice:

That is great news!!! Keep us posted. Who is doing the install for you?

LA Drop Shop in Spotsy. It is about 45 minutes from Quantico, right around Lake Ana, so quite a haul!! However, Mark (owner) quoted me $45 an hour for labor, and I just haven't been able to beat that!!! Think I will wait until next weekend, though, as this weekend I have a 15 page Open Memo due for my legal writing class!!! :(

Hope you love that TT

I'm looking to get my Truetrac and 3.73 gears put in by the end of the month. Can't wait to see what kind of Difference they'll make. Tired of laying rubber only to my right.... I think I'm getting my TT from Drivetrain Specialists and my gears - not sure yet - but seem to be Motive is making those now.

Also need to get my Dunlop M3's for the winter ... so its going to cost me about 1500 before all told :bang: but need to do it ... I keep telling myself....

Also looking to do a S/C by summer time and just laying all the groundwork for it :D

Good luck and let us know how it goes

'05 Screamin Yellow V6 - SCT 93 (da hell with the limiters and gov's) - Magnaflow Cat Back Duals - Rear Spolier - Side Stripes

This month : 3.73 gears - Detroit TrueTrac

Coming this summer to a freeway near you : SuperCharger - (Paxton Shelby CS6 Package or Procharger)

Awesome. Did you get my email? I ordered Motive 3.73's today, with the bearing kit. Now I just need to decide.....FR TLOK or TruTrac. Still hanging on that one.

I will have to see about LA Drop Shop. How many hours did they quote you on the install? The place near me quoted 350.

Ask your tech about installing a solid pinion spacer rather than the crush sleeve. It takes a little more time but makes for a stronger setup. Ratech sells adjustable ones.

A good synthetic 75W90 will do fine. That diff doesn't have any clutches so no friction modifier is needed.

Almsot forgot to mention the PANHARD RELOCATION BRACKET!!!! Ordered it from BMR. I will need more space for the girdle, and the bracket will give me just the space that I need! It is my understanding that you cannot put a girdle on without one. Looks like next Saturday will be the big day!!! :nice:

I'm holding off, I hear there is a girdle comming to market that does not require panhard relocation. I can wait a few months.
