I hope this does not upset anybody here, as I'm already embarrassed enough interrupting the knowledgeable line of threads with this one! Hope this is the right sub-forum, here it goes...So a friend of mine is trusting me with his beautiful 1966 v6 mustang for half a week, on the condition that I drive it only small distances carefully...How do I open the hood?! Is there both an interior latch and exterior? I have fooled around (gently of course) quite a bit searching the car, and surprisingly I cannot find the answer on google.
Any help would be much appreciated!
Again sorry for the idiotic question.

First off I would be very carefull when driving it, there are people who don't pay attention while they are driving. Don't feel embaressed for asking when I first bought my car, from my friends dad I didn't even open the hood or check anything really. My first response was open the door and sit in it, second was WOW I had never seen a 65 from the inside. I drove it around to get the money and then went home. When I got home I my wife, and mom came out to see what I had bought. While showing it off I wanted to open the hood and to my amaze I couldn't open it. I was about to call my friend to ask him the same question. When my mom remembed. There is a lever in between the grill and where the license plate should go. You just have to pull it towards you. (If I remeber correctly its been a year and a half since I've had to open my hood.) Just don't hold your friend liable if you feel something missing in your live after he takes it back, and you find yourself searching the classifieds. Sorry for the long post just tought I would share.

You didn't open your hood even once in a year and a half??

That car does not stop or handle like newer cars. Give yourself lots of room in traffic.

Last week I was driving my buddies 2009 SRT8 Challenger when someone almost rear ended me while I was at a dead stop(they slid into the bushes next to me instead). It made me sick at how close I came to trashing an $$$$ car just sitting there. Didn't drive it again till I returned it to him.

ahhhh I just found it! I'm not sure what the movable fork I found does, but its a ways up from the hood release. Thanks for the precautions, and I forgot to mention that the reason he is lending it to me is because I'm looking to purchase this beauty.
