its suppose to naturally run out and down under the tail lights. I poured water in there on the pass side to see if i had any leaks and it ran down behind the tails and out under them so it shouldn't sit in there.

Keven pour water in there and look on the inside around where the 2 pieces go together. See the second pic thats where I mean

Id sand it down a bit, then hit it with por-15, then hit it with color and clear. Id get most of the rust off before putting POR-15 on, but it adheres best to rust.

I still cant say that I like the idea of just slopping some anti-rust paint on some solid rust damage though like they recommend.

Well took it to the shop. Said it would be like 250-275. Thats cleaning it all out re coating it with that stuff and paint. The owner was there and came over and started looking at it. He's known my dad for a good many years so he wanted to look. As he was looking he was liek did they put a new quater on this and then he found the weld spots. So it appers somebody at one point in time put a used quater panel on my car. He also said with the way it looks where we can see he wonders how bad the rest of it was asked if i got water inside . I told him under the back seat has been wet before so he wonders if its from the leak I found or from another spot. And basically after all this I still might find other leaks and still have problems

Oh and on a weird note the welds were farther into the trunk then just the panel itself

hacked at is some more today and it gets worse. Seems where they put the quater on they didn't weld the whole thing and the rust goes up under the hinge. Thining about cleaning it up and trying to weld it a little better. (KEY WORD:trying) not very good at welding but i always use a ****ty mask guess its time to go buy my auto darkening one
