Hey all - my first post here...

I have a '90 LX convertible and the trunk light will not turn off. I have tried to look for a mercury switch or something to no avail. Anyone know what controls this circuit? Thanks for any help!

Thanks for the reply...

I took the lamp assembly out of the hole it is buried in inside the trunk lid, and took it apart. There is an enclosed metal silver bullet shaped thing inside the socket just like you said. I am assuming this is the mercury switch. It is obviously bad because no matter which way I turned/wiggled/shook it my circuit tester light remained lit.

NOW my question is... does anyone know a replacement part number or where to get one? NO junkyards around here have any fox bodies, and I'd rather not cut or splice the wire to rig something up.

Thanks!

See if there is a part number on the part itself and you might be able to search for one using the number. You might be able to find the same switch used in other Ford vehicles of the same time period if your lucky.
