trunk rattle help

hey guys i got an 89 gt and i barely have any bass but my trunk still rattles. i know about sound deadening but i was just wondering if anyone had found any good fixes from experience. i know i could fix it i just figured might as well ask someone who's delt with fox body's trunks rattling, thanks in advance

Find out what is actually rattling. I once found it was just my license plate rattling and I fixed it by applying fatmat on the back of my plate. Problem fixed.

its the entire rear hatch floating.

Bring the adjustment screws out farther, so it latches tighter. That was the only solution in my Fox when I had some JL 15's in there. Dynamat didn't help any, if at all.

do you mean the adjustement screws for the striker or at the top of the hatch?

Could try a few pieces of stick on foam like the type you get for weather sealing doors in a house. Just a piece here and there should keep it tight.
