I recently picked up a shaved trunk lid (I think form a 93) for my 1990 coupe. My car doesn't have the auto trunk release. I've got the button, and I think I know what that plugs in to behind the glove box, but when i check the wiring in the trunk, it doesn't look like the wiring from the new lid will plug in to the existing wiring on my coupe. The lid has a black adapter, the car has a grey one (see pics), and they definately won't fit. Do I need a new harness, or is the black one floating around somewhere? Or is there a way I could wire up the release myself?

Do you have the release motor or solenoid?

If you have that, you can just test the wiring to see which wires send the power when you push the button, and wire them to the solenoid.
