tune question

i was wanting to get my car tuned..so i called a place in mobile,al.. they told me 700 bucks and they would burn me a chip too..im fixing to be running a 125 shot of nitrous on it..is it worth the money to have it put on a dyno and tuned???

not with you current mods, or lack of. Take the money you were gonna spend on the tune and pickup a PI intake and maybe some used PI cams....both can be had used cheap! @ 100 dollars each. Thats a good 35hp and would really help out with that nitrous. and i don't know about a 125 shot with a plastic intake? lol

lol,im thinking about the pi swap,i can get heads for like 500 bucks off ebay and intake for about 100 or 150 bucks,and i want some new cams..the cams were like 600 bucks i think,i dont know what cams to get tho..what cams would you suggest

you can find the heads cheaper, i got mine for 350 shipped(used). As far as cams i like VT and comp. www.vtengines.com they have several different cams on the website.

A basic dyno tune ought to run no more than $500 including a new chip, but if you get a multi-position chip tuned with, say, a performance tune for nitrous, another performance tune for running without nitrous, and a basic 87 octane tune it might go to $700.

thanks...i needa call them back and tell them too drop the price..they said it was 375 to run my car on the dyno for an hour,then 250 for the chip and 50 for somethign to do with the nitrous..on top of that its a 3 week waiting list

Dude they are screwing you or either the people that go there are stupid and pay overinflated prices. That You're not going to gain much at all from a dyno tune with your mods -- trust me, I've done it to see. I would spend the bills on the PI swap or cams or something that will increase with a tune.

thats a bad price....
get ahold of Ed Clark he tunes cars out of the shop I go to he does chips for people all over the US even some people on here... I think you can get a muti port SCT chip and dyno time and a tune for 550... check out SMSVA.com
