So I'm still new to working on cars. I have an 01 GT and so far I've put on a cold air intake, catback exhaust, and a pretty nice sound sytem all by me lonesome, so I figure I could handle doing a tune up too. I've had the car for just over a year now, so I figure it is time. So if you guys could just give me some advice on what exactly I need to do it, and also da good stuff to use, I'd appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

well since you did not post the miles I would start just by reading the manual.

it has most recomended service intervals on it. I mean unless it is a perfromance upgrade I tend to do service as recomended. If it is not broke don't fix it.

i think im gonna put some iridium plugs in mine since its just about to push over 38k

You don't need to change them. The stock plugs will last 100k miles no problem. Last thing you want to do is strip the threads on the head or over torque the plugs.

I agree with the above post as well....motorcraft 4 life

I have had about every type of plug possible in my mustang and the only ones worth a crap IMO are the Motorcraft ones.

I just put some new Motorcraft plugs in. Those are the ones I'd go with.

Just get a set of these

And get one of these to install them. A plug socket permanently attached to an extension.
