Just picked up a 2000 saleen from a buddy who wholesales cars. We have very little history on the car. The car has some aftermarket things done to it, but unsure as to how extensive they are. My question is when it comes to tuning the car does the computer have to be reflashed back to ford specs to use a tuner on it? I know saleen reflashes them, but I am unsure what you have to do in order to be able to tune them. Car has a stumble from about 2000-3000 rpms. Basically I am going to get this car back to new and sell it. Good thing is car only has 20,000 miles on it. Idiot that had it though did some stupid looking crap so I get the fun of redoing most of the interior of the car. Thanks for any help you can offer. Oh yeah it is the blower addition.

Just remember the motor isn't anything special. It's a standard Ford 4.6 with a blower and a tune.
Your best option is to take it to someone who uses SCT and can find their own dyno with two hands. You will spend a few extra bucks but it's totally worth it.
You can use the Predator but need to have the stock comp flashed back to stock like you mentioned. SCT is superior overall.

Sounds like it could be a nice ride!

It is a shame that the idiot that owned your car before felt the need to do foolish things to it- some people just don't have any real vision, eh?

Correct. I am familiar with the cars. I have the dyno and I have the sct stuff, but was unsure about how saleen messed with the computers. If I could write over what they have or if I have to get the computer reflashed. Just took a quick glance today and it has a pro-m, 42lb injectors, and appears that the blower pulley has been off. So this leads me to believe that the car wouldn't be running as good as it does, or at all if someone hasn't been in the computer. Should know more over the next few days. I have a lot of work ahead..... I got it for a really good price is the only reason I jumped on it.

No vision would be an understatement. Overall it is a nice ride, but they really hacked up the interior with other gauges and crap, painting panels white, putting clear taillights on the car, just to name a few. Good thing I have a stock pile of interior stuff around from this year of car. Just take it all out, and put brand new stuff in. Does have the upgraded hood, and the larger rear wheels just not the nice brakes Does anyone know how to verify that it really was an original blower car?

getting rid of the 42's, pro m meter, pulley isnt going to make this car worth to much more money, some poeple will just as much like it more for some of that stuff. Now the clear taillights and painted interior probably should go...but I dont know if i'd go messing with the engine if its got the nice stuff like you say it has

I agree with you. I don't care if it has performance parts on it. As long as it has the basic saleen stuff I don't care about the other. I wouldn't have it any other way. I have owned 20+ mustangs and have never kept one stock. I would upgrade the injectors and stuff anyways. It has a few nice parts on it from what I have seen so far.
