Hi guys, I just signed up for stangnet. My name is Rene and I'm from Independence, MO. I have an '02 mustang GT that I bought a couple of years ago. I have been upgrading the headlights and tail lights. In the process, I have noticed that when I engage the turn signals, the two outside lights flash but the inside one does not (on both sides). My question is: are all 3 lights supposed to flash? I ask this because I tried sequential turn signals which did not work to my satisfaction but with that harness, all the lights flashed. I thought maybe my harness was bad so I bought a used set off of ebay. It works the same way as my old one. When I apply the brakes, all 3 lights come on. If all 3 are supposed to flash with the turn signals on; any suggestions?

Welcome to Stangnet brother.

I'll move your thread over to the '96-'04 tech section, your bound to get some help there.

It's good to have you with us!

Factory lights are all three are tail lights, outside two are brake lights and turn signals. The inside bulb is a dual filiment but the plug has not been wired for brakes and turn signal. I sourced another outside light socket from a junk yard and converted mine so all three work on brake and turn.

If all three stock tails come on with brakes and not turns, something is wrong as the brake and turn lights are the same wires and bulb fliments.

After market sequential turn signals also use all three as brake and turn. Some brands sequence on brakes, some do not.

Thanks. I was thinking about doing that with the set I got on ebay.

Got 'em all flashing. Thanks again, Pete. It seems weird that they don't come that way from the factory. Why have 3 bulbs and only use 2?

Yep.....for only 6 inches or less of wire....Ford does some weird things. 99 thru 09 are like that.
