I just got a new turn signal switch (for the 2nd time) and the wire colors dont match up with the wire colors on the other end of the plug. If I plug the wires in "correctly" everything is all messed up, for example, when you turn the car on and the turnsignal is not turned left or right, both blinkers flash, when you turn the signal right, the left signal flashes, and vice versa, brakes dont work at all, horn doesnt work. I had this same sort of problem with my last turn signal switch but that one was easy to figure out and we got it, but this one is different but its got the same colors as the original switch that was on the car, like the wire colors are the same but they must do different things. Can anyone give me any ideas on what to do?

That would be next to impossible since you didn't tell us what year you're talking about and it's not listed in your profile.

Wiring

Did the switch come with a wiring diagram? Ford is good at having one part do multiple applications. Also, sounds dumb, but could you have wired in a mirror image?
