Turned Rotors - Problem?

Well.. i got my rotors turned at the school. I was away one day, and a few buddies turned a rotor without me, after installing them, this is what i found.

Is this a problem? Should i remove the rotor and cut it smooth to the edge or will this not make a difference, should i just leave it?

A crusty/rusty ring on both sides of the machined surface is normal. As long as the pad does not scrape the rust when you rotoate the disk, you are fine.

Thanks, i just went and double checked (should have looked closer in the first place), and the pad isn't on top of that lip.

ps. wasn't talking about the rusted lip, rather part of the rotor that was turned, you can see on the very outside, it looks like a small groove.
