I was just wondering if you should turn your car off in neutral or in gear and does it really matter? I just thought if you start it in neutral you should turn it off in neutral.

I leave mine in 1st if I'm parked uphill or reverse if I'm parked downhill with the e-brake on. If I'm on a flat spot sometimes I will leave it out of gear. But the e-brakes aren't that great in stangs so if I'm on a hill, it's in gear.

EDIT: oh and with a stick you can't start it anyway unless you got the clutch in. I dunno bout an auto, never owned one.

At least they didn't ask if there car was faster than "insert ricer car here"

I thinks its a fairly legititmate question if its thier first non-auto, and I know I didn't read my owners manual cover to cover.

I can't believe you bothered responded to this since you had nothing to add.

We all have questions, does it hurt YOU that he asked the question here? jeez.

I rarely use the ebrake on either vehicle. I just leave them in 1st. Then again, we are pretty flat here in La
