any ideas what it could be? i never heard it before today. i heard it while turning. went to a parking lot and tested it out. drove in circles and all i heard was a rubbing clunking type of sound.

im not sure what could be rubbing only on a turn. im hoping that it has nothing to do with the drivetrain but i dont know what else could be wrong. unless iis it possible the back wheels rub only on a turn? i dont think that is it cause i never had the noise before.

on a straight run i hear nothing. what do you guys think?

Yes, it's possible. Weight shifts. Try a narrower tire in a turn and see if it still does it. If it DOES, it's perhaps a wheel bearing. If it doesn't, it's obviously the tire.

What suspension do you have and what size tire?

I've run slammed setups on 315/30's and not had issues like this. I doubt you're as low or as wide.

With all that power. Damn ill bet that thing doesn't hook for shat. My car makes a rubbing noise when i make a right turn into like a parking lot that has an incline into the lot. If that makes any sense. I don't know what the hell its rubbing either.

is it a rubbing or could it be a "knocking" noise?

jack the rear up and turn the rear wheels backwards and forwards and see if you can feel or hear anything coming from the axle or differential.

Mine was doing that after i wrecked it. What it ended up being was the driver side axle was slightly bent to where in a turn the rear brake disc was rubbing against the caliper in one spot. I got a new axle and it fixed the problem. Just a FYI in case u cant figure it out. And the only way the shop figured it out was by flstang65 method.

wow! thanks for the responce guys. no one was posting and i forgot about the thread. sorry for not posting back. anyway, no i cant hook at all from a stop.

tires break way lose in second while driving and break lose at the top of third if im flooring it.

anyway, thanks for the advice about taking a look at the rear. i just hope i didnt break anything. i havent even been too hard on it yet.

im not sure what it could be. i thought it sounded like a rubbing but it is not exactly steady. its sort of off beat. yea, it could be some kind of knocking as well...i dont know. its def. from the rear though.

your trac loc discs are shot and may be taking the spider gears with it...I had this exact thing happen to mine

On a bright side, It's a good time to upgrade to 31 spline axles and an Eaton Posi carrier...oh and the C clip eliminators...that is, if you don't already have that stuff...
