TV Cable---Safe to drive without?

Long story short, TV cable got melted. Is it ok to drive until I can get it replaced?

I'm gonna say no but I don't have a auto in mine and the other still has the shift modulator valve,
But then you didn't give year model so......

Is the outside melted but the cable itself still working? You can have someone manually move the cable in the engine compartment while you verify the lever on the trans moves. If not, then don’t drive it.

91 LX, completely destroyed, did save the fancy brass grommet

No. not safe. It will cause issues with the AOD over time. You can probably drive it around the block and such but IIRC the trans won't shift properly and will build heat.
