T/W's have a max lift of .540 and track heat's are .600 Any other major differences? What are the performance differences between the two? Which is recommended for a 347?

Both flow the same. The track heat heads have a slightly better valve train package and no smog ports. Go with regular TW heads and a GOOD valve spring. I think track heat springs are only 120lbs on the seat. If you're doing it right, you will need a bit more spring.

I have a TW headed 347 so if you need any help just ask

They are the same castings, only the TWs are EGR compatible, and the Track Heats are non emissions heads...

The valve trains are also different with the springs on the TWs supporting the .540 mentioned and the Track Heats supporting .600 lift

Thanks, I have a lot of q's but i won't take up all your time. I was wondering how guys use TW's with cams with a greater lift than .540? I want to use these heads with an aggressive cam while still using the j4j1 computer.

P.S. I used to live on LI. I like your combo but want to keep mine at about 9.5cr....future vortech.

Where on LI did you live? What made you move down south? I think the hurricane would keep me from moving down there even though it is cheaper to live than up here.

Used to live in the Hauppauge/Smithtown area before my company relocated me. And its not as cheap as you think anymore in Palm Beach County.

What r the specs of your cam if u don't mind me asking. I am thinking about using them (FTI). They claim to be $300.00 for a custom roller whereas Comp cams are $375 for an off the shelf.

My FTI cam was $325 for a roller cam.

I don't wanna give away too much but the duration is 236/242 and the appx rpm band is 3200-6400.

What exactly are you building?

a 347 with 9.0-9.5 cr. TW heads, ported cobra lower, throttle opening bored for 75mm TB upper Cobra, LT's, Flowmasters. It'll eventually be s/c, but for now (1-2yrs) N/A. I am stuck on the cam selection
