I own an '89 two tone black over silver Fox 'Stang GT convertible. Does anyone know if the silver portion of the two tone 'Stangs were painted in satin or gloss paint?? I'm looking to go back to the stock color scheme, but I want to be correct on that. Can someone please help with some info??

Im pretty sure they were satin...Im around 98% sure. That being said, I have never seen a glossy silver lower unless the car was completely silver.

I thought the same exact thing when I first saw it. I looked all over the car for signs of a repaint, but saw none. I need to verify the VIN to make sure, but from what I saw, nothing looked like a repaint.

Titanium was Satin sheen. Pretty sure the blue car above was a repaint. Looks too silver to be Titanium.

My best friend in highschool had an 89 that was a black and silver two tone. It had the red pin stripe that ran around the upper portion of the ground effects and the bumper covers. Aside from the red pinstripe, I always loved that color combo...but you rarely see one. The one pictured above looks awsome with the GT bullit wheels.

FYI, the "pin stripe" was slightly under 1" wide & only came in orange for all color combos. When I tried to remove mine, it would not come off the doors because the color was molded in, it was not a decal like the rest of the body. This forced me to add a new strip, rather than no stripe at all. My car is still original paint & I am the original owner.

Looks original to me, right down to the orange/red stripe.
