Typhoon Intake

I would suggest porting and polishing them. The have a lot of casting marks etc. They have decent internal ports just need some help for por matching and finish.

you did fine.

Typhoon? Aren't those the Edelbrock intakes with the names ground off? What's the story behind those, anyway? I really don't know anything about them.
They buy an E-brock intake & ship it to China. The foundry there grinds the name off, and makes molds of the original part, then produces large quanitities with cheap material, cheap labor, and NO R & D cost. :nonono: :damnit: :nono:

They use a totally different process then the casting sand method Edelbrock use. It is actually a better method, of making the intakes, makes for better runners then the Edelbrocks they are ripping off.. But they are having issues else were in the process that makes them substandard. The material composition seems to be the same. When grounded out and checked for consistancy. But they are not an intake to be used right out of the box In my opinion. they need to be ground/ported and polished to work.

OK thanks. I didn't know if it was a rip-off or if Edelbrock was selling blank cores to re-sellers.

How do I do this and how much does it cost?????
For the cost of a die grinder and spare gaskets you can do it yourself. Lots of info on the internet on how to do this type of thing. Heck I did my first and only porting job myself before there was an internet, and my engine is still in one piece.
