uhm dont want to doom and gloom the day but that pic looks kinda more seiously than clearcoat scratches, i can't really tell depth on it but it looks like it went deeper; might need some buffing

Don't touch his vehicle anymore than you already did. Don't rub nothing without him asking you to. Just leave the note, maybe a follow up to be sure he got it... than leave it all alone. Be humble and you are doing the right thing the right way. Other than that... don't worry about it.

yeah i never touched his car, im just leaving it alone. im just speculating as to what could be done to fix it thats all, just to ease my nerves that everything will be fine

Not everyone gives a poop about their cars like we do. I saw someone key a truck and another one back into a car and neither owner seemed to care about it... I would have been livid on both counts.
