After appearing on national network television, on the covers of magazines, and on computer screens all over the world, Kimbo Slice could have gone anywhere for the next step in his fighting career and picked up a lucrative paycheck in the process.

Instead, he chose to enter a house for six weeks with 15 other heavyweight hopefuls as a member of The Ultimate Fighter 10 cast to fight his way to a UFC contract.

Im surprised at this too b/c Dana White really lit into him during an interview, I think it was in playboy. Pretty much said hes a no talent hack. Maybe Dana is doing this to prove his point,

Dana's a smart man. He knows that this is a win win for him. There's no way it won't pay off for him. First it's gonna bring in the ratings for the show just having him on there, not to mention you KNOW there's gonna be lots of drama. Second, if Kimbo gets his ass chewed up then it shows that he was right in saying he was a no talent hack and maybe it'll put Kimbo away from MMA once and for all. If Kimbo actually succeeds in winning the whole thing, then it puts Kimbo into the UFC ring where he's gonna bring more ratings and surely get tore up by someone somewhere which just means a huge profiting PPV fight. I wouldn't be surprised if Dana didn't contact Kimbo himself to get him on the show.

I'm a pretty big Kimbo hater, I'd take a great deal of satisfaction in seeing him lose on the show. With that said, you've gotta give the guy props. He was making half a mil per fight with EliteXC, now he'll be making nothing. At least the guy is trying to prove himself in the sport. I don't really hold him responsible for how much credibility he was given anyways, he was just ProElite's meal ticket.

Yeah i will say i respect him...he IS a hell of a fighter, just not the best MMA fighter. He's got a lot of heart and one side of me actually hopes he makes it because i root for the under dog but then the other side of me just wants to see the drama.

The longer he is on the show the more drama there will be so it makes me wonder if they will put him up to fight as one of the first fights or give him a few wks on the show.

This is my theory on the upcoming season. Dana wants to back up his earlier talk of saying that Kimbo was a bum. So he wants to put him in the ring with a bunch of unseasoned fighters and have the results be the same as the Petruzelli fight. He of course wants the ratings but wants a spectacular plane crash which is what will happen.


Bas Rutten kicked Kimbo out of his gym and said he would never work with the man again because he doesn't listen. So if Bas was having problems with him just imagine what Jackson and Evans are going to do.
