Under Hood Mods (PICS) UPDATED 12-15-07

I finally got started under the hood today and I thought I'd share some pictures of the parts I chose. I used the Steeda hood strut kit without their logo. I had the aluminum bracket polished and black anodized. I replace the white painted factory hood bolds with some polished stainless steel bolts and washers:

I decided to try the C&L CAI with the "no tune" option. I'll go for the tuner soon:

I also thought I'd use the optional bracket to attach the MAF housing to the cam cover:

Next the various plastic caps needed replacing. I'm also retaining the prop rod "just in case" so I replaced the black painted one with a polished stainless steel version:

The dip stick handle got swapped out:

Here are the other stock and billet pieces:

Lastly for this go around was to do something about my radiator cover. I had to cut it back a bit as I no longer have the stock plastic GT grill for it to attach to. That was replaced by a Cervini billet grill. The cover also had to be clearanced for the Shelby hood pin brackets:

So to finish things off a bit I installed a Steeda brushed stainless radiator cover:

There's a long ways to go but it's a start.

Looks good. I ordered the whole Scott Drake kit from partscheap forever ago and never received. They debited my card, but then reversed it. They said something was on backorder and they'd get it in next week, and they never shipped.

Thanks! Next is and intake condum.....I mean cover and a strut tower brace. I'm also thinking about JBA shorty headers and Ford Racing polished and clear powder coated cam covers.

Although way too busy/blingy for my taste, very nice 2007gt My GT/A emblems are Scott Drake. High quality stuff for sure

I dunno. It looks nice but, my car never sits around with the hood up so I guess I don't get it.

I like a nice engine bay myself, if for nothing else, personal satisfaction. Back in the day, a nice engine compatment was as important as the rest of the car. We would meet up town in the library parking lot on saturday nights. We would turn our cars off, turn the radio's up and prop up the hoods. I guess it's a small country town thing. Shows I'm not only a hick, but an old hick at that hee hee.

Looks good, I personally wouldn't spend the money on all those caps, but they do look much better.

About the hood struts though... did you have to re-align the hood after putting them on? I've been looking at them for a while, but I dread the thought of aligning body panels, which is one of my most hated car related activities. Perhaps it's the human factors engineer in me that wants them, but I just don't trust that little rod holding up the hood while I'm under it. I'd love to know how easy it is to install them.....

I have the CDC hood props. The brackets are made where you only have to take out one of the bolts on each side so that your alignment doesn't move much if at all. The other bolt, you just loosen enough to slide the bracket under. I only had to readjust the passenger side one time by maybe less than a 1/4". From start to stop it took about 20 minutes by myself. I'd recomend these for anybody.

I've installed Redline Tuning hood struts on my last couple Mustangs. Much nicer than a prop-rod anyday. Better looking, but also more room under the hood compared to that dang prop-rod always being in the way. Here's my 07 GT with the stainless steel Redline Tuning hood struts. Quick install (under 1/2 hour with a drill and rivet gun). Did NOT affect hood alignment...

I have the CDC struts also and they are great. As kooldawg said it is a 20 min installation. CDC has a high quality product.

I just finished installing a BMR #STB011 strut tower brace and the factory optional intake condum:

It clears my condum buy this much:

I hope that's enough?????????

I also added an Action Artistry fuse box cover:

Next up are Ford Racing polished cam covers.........
