underide vs overide trac bars

I have the under-rider bars on my 67..........THEY ARE GREAT!!!!!!
Zero wheel hop, 6000 rpm burnouts...no problem.
You do need to weld them real good to the frame.

CalTracs and Lakewoods don't require welding and are more effective in eliminating wheel hop and are adjustable.
over ride or under ride, the name says it all;
override, the bars run over the top of the rear axle and leaf springs, essentially creating a 4 link rear suspension.
underride bars run under the axle and leaf spring, operating more as a traction bar only in preventing wheel hop, and spring wind up.
for drag racing and the street, the underride bars are best, as they are easy to install.
for any other form of racing the override bars are best as they eliminate chassis lift, as well as reducing spring wrap. they are also more effective under braking than the override bars. the problem though is that they are more difficult to install, as oyu have to cut open the body to run them through, and they dont fit under the rear seat, so you have to replace it with the panel that shelby used in the gt-350's.

- UNDERRIDE - drag racing is their specialty, minor welding required (did not fit with my subframe connectors)
- CALTRACS - most expensive but work better than the above and do not require any permanent modification to the car

They are a good alternative. Made me a set. Cost me 120 bucks. 40 of it was from the 3/4in drill bit I had to buy that I didn't own, and another 20 for the tap I needed to buy to fix a problem created by the guy I payed 30 bucks to, to weld up a few things. He didn't listen to me and the alignment was off when he welded them. I was pulling consistant 1.69-1.72's on 26' et streets, and pulled many sub 1.6's on the bottle. Nothing has bent yet.
