I was hit in a parking lot (hit and run, i didnt see it happen) and the impact was on the rear passenger bumper. The bumper is not dented, but is badly scrathed and has a gash out of it. It looks like i could touch it up with some wax and paint for less than a hundred bux, so at first i wasnt that pissed, but when i got in the car, i noticed my door didnt shut the same. it shut, but it didnt seem right. i checked the passenger side and it shut fine, then i checked the convertible top and that was off too, again, it closed, but not the way it normally does. Same thing with the trunk. I also noticed that the rear DRIVERS side quarter panel appears to have a few creases/crumples. THe drivers side door is also off about a centimeter at the bottom. The car looks fine at first glance, and drives fine, but when you really look at it, it seems to me like the body might be bent. Any thoughts? Im gonna bring it to a shop this week, but i didnt know if anyone has had a smilar problem like this, do you think it will be a pain to fix?

I did 3k worth of damage at 25mph to my passanger side rear quate panel and unibody, had to have it pulled etc... Jeeps are sturdy vehicles, they dont have alot of give when you crash into them

Sorry to hear about that. That really sucks. I had a guy back into my car while I was eating in a resteraunt. Luckily all it did was take some paint off of my front bumper so I was able to touch it up. No body issues like you have though. Hope you can get that fixed without having a leak in your top.

Sounds like frame damage. I know, your like what? The door isn't closing right because the car a may have "twist" or "diamond." A good body shop will have a good frame machine, like a Cheif, and beable to set up and measure the problem. Once they do that, they can determine where they need to "pull" the car. Convertibles are more like to get the twist (because they lose the rigidity of the hard top...the hard top adds to the stiffness of the frame). I would get some full length sub frames to help get the frame stiffer.

Pull time is costly, and a grey area. Not very standardized in the car repair industry. Let the insurance carrier deal with the shop, not your battle.

there might be some addition tension in the bolts holding the frame together... if you could loosen those and then retighten it would straighten out... BUT that would be hard... very hard
