update p0153

ok, so in my last update on this code (p0153 bank2, sensor 1 O2 circuit slow) I said I cleared the code and it hasn't come back.....well last night, exactly one week later, the code came back...I crawled under car this morning and there is no exhaust leak on either side, except some very small ones AFTER the O2 where the two sections of my X-pipe meet....so is it safe to declare it to be the O2 sensor? If so I am thinking of replacing both of the front O2's just to be on the safe side. any input would be appreciated...:SNSign:

Yeah, I had the same issues with mine. The front O2 sensors were basically crap and everytime I cleared the codes it would come back right away or it would take it awhile. If the exhaust leak is post o2 I would go ahead and replace atleast the front 2 sensors. I did that and had no more issues.

I got the same prob man and ive been having it for months now. Ive replaced both o2 sensors. ive tried everything until i switched the rear o2 with the front driver side and now i dont get any code. even though i have no cats and no MIL eliminators?!....ive been told that it was my mass air sensor, exhust leaks, vacuum leaks, and eeven that i need a dyno tune. i dont know wat hte hell is going on but im glad its gone...for now.

I've got an 03 GT w/ bassani x-pipe and I've been getting a code for the passenger side front o2 sensor also and i just replaced it and the light has come back on. I dont have an exhaust leak. any idea what this could be, souds similar to your problem?

ok i got you all lol. when you swapped your midpipes, did you unclip the little pieces that keep the o2 sensor wires from swinging and banging around? if your wires from the sensors to the harness are free and bounce about they will cause that code. chances are that is what it is, not any leak or any bad sensors. when i put in my mid pipe i dealt with that stupid slow response code on both sides passenger and driver for about a month. tried everything... one day i was messing with it and i realized they were loose, figured what the hell land i wired them up away from my headers and zip tyed them for good measure. i have not gotten either code since. i dont know why that would mess with it like that, but apparently it does.... give it a try guys and let me know
