Hi all I plan on doing some upgrades on my stock pony summer and have a few questions.

1) What is difference in performance between the H pipe and X pipe? Which one sounds better?

2) My suspension badly needs an upgrade, I like the suspension on the new v6 mustangs, are the performance suspensions similar to this?

If money is tight and you aren't going to be making 5k launches at the strip, you might want to check out the Bullit suspension package.

1. No matter what anyone says, there is no better pipe. On a stock motor, they flow so similarly and the differences that do exist are minimal. Basically, do you want a real deep, rumbly sound or do you want a more aggressive exotic type sound. Thats all there is to it. Also, brand is important. If you want a brand name like Bassani or Dr. Gas, you can only get an X pipe. Mac prochamber has to arguably be the best H pipe to get.

2. This too has been debated much lately but I recommend geting the Bullitt kit for your car. Its a great kit and very inexpensive compared to other kits. Its basically loved by those who have them and hated by those who dont.....keep that in mind.

Good luck
Chris

Different strokes for different folks Kyle. I think if you go in thinking the Bullit kit will ride like something from Maximum Motorsports you are going to be badly mistaken. You get what you pay for.

The bullitt suspension has had negative reviews by some, but most because they used the wrong kind of springs to go with Bullitt shocks/struts. If you bought the entire package, you get springs, shocks, struts, and swaybars. All of these are tuned to work with each other and can be had for under $400. Mostly very positive responses for those that used the whole kit (or at least shock/strut/springs) unless your looking for a great suspension for the track and/or strip.

I do mostly highway driving and long backroads, so I want a good ride and better than stock handling. I should have the Bullitt Suspension in my car within a couple months along with caster/camber plates and various poly bushings. This should improve my stock handling/comfort big time so I can enjoy my car more on trips and everyday driving. (for me, good alignment is a must cause tires=$$$)

Later on, D&D has a rear control arm package cheap for both lowers and uppers that I will install this summer along with possibly a new aluminum steering grommet.

I've not heard any complaints about bumpsteer with the Bullitt suspension and most say good alignments can be done without CC plates. A good alignment should eliminate most bumpsteer situations anyway.

X or H pipe??? You definitely need to hear both. No matter what, getting rid of the stock H will open up a few ponies and improve the sound. I love my X cause I rarely see/hear anyone else with one. I get a lot of looks with the Bassani and finally, most imports stay clear of me so I can drive in relative peace. H pipes have a classic sound and the X is just different, but not ratty or low-class. Bassani was nice cause the install was easy and fitment was perfect, but $$$ is sometimes a dealbreaker. I like both H and X, so no real bias one way or the other. I enjoy the sound of a good exhaust, no matter what makes it.
