Well, today I got out of class and went to start up my car...I noticed as I turned my key to the accessory on position that I didn't hear the fuel pump prime. Well, the bitch didn't start. So I am going to buy a BBK 155lph pump because it's cheaper than buying a OEM one through Ford and it will be a good builder-mod for when I start to increase my airflow.

My question is: Do I need to buy an adjustable FPR and install it at the same time or can I wait till I actually need to tune the car? My car is pretty much stock, see sig.

Thanks.

Go with a 190 or a 255 to accomodate future mods. Are you sure its the pump? Could be a dead relay or try resetting the inertia switch. These are easier and cheaper than a new pump. Get a new fuel filter too. No, you don't need an afpr.

Well, I am going to have them check out the relay and wiring to make sure whether or not it's not the pump. If they tell me it IS the pump, then I'll hand them the new one. How do I reset the inertia switch? But I don't see how it would be that.

Go with a 190 or 255, like was already said. Nothing worse than doing things twice.

And you don't need an AFPR with it. I ran my 190 with the stock regulator for well over a year with no problems.

Good luck.

the size of your fuel pump should be determined by the extent of your future mods. Don't go crazy on size for no reason. Since the adjustable fuel pressure regulator is for find tuning you can wait on that. It is independent of the pump! The inertial switch is in the trunk.

Well, I just purchased a 190lph Walbro pump for only $90. Please tell me that saving myself some money didn't F*@%K me over in quality?

Walbro, probably as good or better than anything else. They make most pumps with private labels anyways. I put mine in and although a few people say they are noisey mine is much more quiet than my old one and almost as quiet as a new stang pump!

I have a Walbro 190L on my stock engine. It's much more quiet than my old stock pump. Also I'm running the pump with out an aftermarket FPR

Well after trying unsuccessfully three times throughout the day, it finally kicked over just a little bit ago in front of the tow truck driver! We just laughed...go figure huh?!?! So, I'm having somebody check out the relays on Thursday. I guess I'll just save the fuel pump for later when I start putting more mods on the car.
