I just ordered a set of UPR dbl adjustable upper control arms. I want to do new bolts when I install them. I need to know what the size is and what strength I need. I was thinking grade 10? Will Lowes/Home Depot have them? These are the UPR pro series arms with sperical on both sides and i'm doing UPR upper torque box reinforcements also.

Mike there metric, I can check when I get into the shop later I think I have mine sitting out. I want to say they are 12mm.

The graded Metric bolts on our cars are not as strong as a GRADE 8 Standard. You'll like those arms, nice pieces, just get under it every once in awhile and flush the bearings out to keep them clean and free of debris so you don't score them.

Check out www.mcmaster.com next delivery is standard and you can get anything you need.

Thanks Rick. Are you saying I can pick up a grade 8 bolt at home depot and they're stronger than our stock bolts? Can I get grade 10 there?

If you get a chance, can you tell me the length and double check the thread size too. Thanks.

By the way, i'll be doing the rear after the suspension. I had told you I was gonna order the axles and bearings ect from you. I didn't forget I want this fuucker to run good this season, BS 12 second slips are not acceptable anymore!

I had those on my old coupe and they were garbage.

They transmitted every bit of road noise into my car and the welds broke!!!!

This was on a 13 second street car.

I would NEVER buy anything from them and I used to work there so I know. The only reason I even had them on my car because they were free.

Sorry to rant but there are lots of other reasons that I will not go into right now.

Sorry Mike.

Lets hope i have better luck.

My friends have no problems with theirs. Thats the reason I went with them, price and i've seen them work first hand. Im sure they're outsourced to china and im not a big fan of that but my friends have good success with them.

Im not worried about road noise but the welds breaking is dangerous!

I've looked for Grade 8 bolts at my local Home Depot and Lowes, and never found them.
They usually tell me to go to the "Real hardware store" and look for them.

I have gotten grade 8 @ Lowes before.

I did a search and it looks like grade 10.9 is what I need. Supposedly its the metric equivelent (or close to) grade 8. Now I just need the exact length and stuff. Whats the next stronger after 10.9?
