UPR A-arm = GARBAGE!!! - Corral Forums

defective suspension parts scare me the most. even if it this was a one time thing, after the way they claimed it was a powdercoating issue even after he stripped it, i wouldnt put my car and my life in their hands. but im paranoid...

Actually it wasn't powder coating or a crack it was something called lamination. Here are the finding from that A arm in question.

Although I currently work for UPR I have been a customer of UPR for many years and if I left today I'd still run our suspension parts. Defective parts come out of every company on the market. If you only knew the number of broken suspension parts from other big companies that get brought to us at events and the shop here you would be shocked.

I understand that any company will have defects slip through, to me it was more the way it was initially handled. I believe even if this was just a powder coat issue it should have been free shipping and brand new replacement. If i'm going to spend a couple grand on your parts I want flawless parts and exceptional customer service. I could care less about the low blow one of your reps said in the beginning, thats one employee and he was dealt with.

I don't meant to say that UPR puts out a bad product, but would you accept that? it looked horrible, even if it was not weakened its a brand new product it should be damn near flawless. the only reason this guy ever did get a refund was because it got out to the public and could have cost UPR more money. not to mention others that mentioned problems with other products from other posters on that forum that you wouldn't refund or replace until it was in an open forum. once again Its not the defective parts that slip through that get me its the customer service.

maybe its just happened to me to many time, but I just cant stand companies that do that.

I also read more into the crash, and it had nothing to do with your product. the article is very misinformed and skewed the story.

they dont

i wish i could find the link but even the father admitted they were testing the car, it was tubbed and had drag radials in the snow. he lost control and slid into the oncoming the piece was sheared when the mustang hit another car. i kinda feel like an idiot for bringing that one up before i really looked into it

UPR's product was not the cause of the accident

Yes you are right it was not handled right but would have been resolved regardless if they went public or not. When we get a call or email about an issue we ask questions and for pics to eliminate the obvious. I've said this before but you would be absolutely amazed at some of things that get brought to our attention that are install issues. We got a call about a defective arm that turned out to be a piece of plastic from the shrink wrapping machine stuck to it, which pulled right off. Most of the time it's handled before it goes that far but that case it wasn't. Then, a now former employee, made some bad comments and things went from bad to worse. In fact his comments were probably worse for the company than the potentially bad part.

That whole situation did cost UPR money no matter how it turned out. We did the right thing because that's how we operate. Usually it's replacement parts but in that case he was in a hurry and bought something else so a refund was the only option. A lot of times the customers will not even contact us to resolve a problem and just blast us or forget it until something like that becomes public. Even then after years we still try and make it right. Unfortunately we can only take care of things we know about.

It really stinks when it comes to business and online forums because you will hear about the few situations where things didn't go right but not the millions that went through flawlessly.

haha shrink wrap really? thats brutal. I dont care about the employees comment at all it was dumb but not what your company is about. and once again im not trying to say that they put out a bad product, every company will have a couple defects slip through thats natural. what i think bugged me was how you wanted him to pay for shipping. i think ive just had the same sort of run around from other companys to many times and im just being bitter...lol
