The 3M tape is very strong if applied properly and is totally reversible. Drilling holes for rivets, can be filled but it will cost you or the next owner a ton of money to have the holes filled and a respray. If it was a focus, I would say drill the holes and rivet it, but it's a mustang which will have collector value some day. On a car like this I never do anything that can't be easily reversed, and I save all the old parts.
