Fox Goonies car

Does anyone know what happened to Troy's Mustang GT from the Goonies after they finished filming? I tried searching for auction results online and couldn't find anything. It's one of my all time favorite movies.

It's possible it was just provided to the studio by Ford Corporate as part of product placement and then returned once filming was done. This is usually the case with hero cars that don't partake in any stunts or anything that would require 3-4 of the same car. Without a VIN of that actual car, might be hard to track it down.

Seems like the VIN is not known to the public so it's probably a lost cause to try and track down the car.
