It seems the current Mustang (05+) have bigger brakes than our 2004 and earlier cars. Is it possible to use their bigger rotors on our cars? Are the calipers better, too?

I can't fund a (more deisrable, I know) Cobra brake conversion, and was looking for a possibly cheaper alternative.

Just a thought (probably a dumb one, maybe...)

I don't really know the answer to your question, but I know that you can get a set of GT takeoff brakes from Saleen for like $69 or so. I saw the add in the latest Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords magazine.

not sure about the rotors, but the calipers will not fit, i think the brackets are different.

yup. if the 2005's have larger rotors then there wont be enough clearance with the stock brackets, causing the caliper to hit the rotor. Save up for cobra brakes, $359 from buyfordracing.com and well worth it. =)

Yeah, that is what I kinda thought. Thank you very much for the info. I am restoring a Porsche 944, so I have not been keeping up on mustang stuff...
