Hi everyone i am new here. I was looking to buy a new car and i came across the 05 mustang and was very interested.
Performance , appearance, everything looks real great on this car. Ford seems to have done a great job.
Well I need a daily driven car so the GT is out of the question because my last car, a Z-28, just massacred me when it came to getting gas.
Needless to say I was usually at the gas station every 2 to 3 days with all the driving I did. So I need a V6 mustang.
Every magazine and site i go to seems to only give reviews on the GT version of the new mustang. Can anyone who either has the V6 , driven it , friend has it or whatever...can anyone give me a comment on how the V6 version of the car is? Thanks in advance.

With todays tech the GT is far from the gas guzzling camaro, I drive my GT on the highway and in the city and avg 19 MPG. It all depends on the way you drive it. The GT is a very civilized Mustang. I had a LS1 and a LT1 camaro, there is no comparison. My friend does have a V6 05 but does not have the IUP, thus can not display average miles per gallon. This car rides like a Linciln LS and is compariable with gas millage. Just look at the numbers:

Manual Trans
4.0 V6 19 City 28 Highway
4.6 V8 17 City 25 Highway

Auto Trans
4.0 V6 19 City 25 Highway
4.6 V8 18 City 23 Highway

The 4.6 GT is the only way to go

Yeah, definetly go with the GT man.

I average 17mpg on my 1997 GT which has 64000 on it.

This is all around town driving and I drive it moderately, but not extremely conservative. I'm sure with these new engines ford has put out it will do a considerable amount better than mine.

The v6 is very impressive, though, I have to say.

The mileage is so similar, you'd be a fool to not get the GT.

The GT is the ****nit.

There has been several mini-reviews of the V6. Some of the media has tested both and while they focus on the GT they hvae made comments on the V6. Most of the comments are that the V6 is suprisingly good and tremendously improved from the old Mustang V6. The comments that I have seen have praised the handling and ride of the V6 and have said that it's performance is more than adequate.

Get the car that fits your needs and budget.

I have an 05 V6 w/Auto Trans, it is a great daily driver and the insurance difference is worth it. By the V6 Premium and stay under $24,000, pay it off and wait for the next generation of GT or even the 07 SVT.
