Do both the V8 stangs and 2.3s use the same radiator? Help! I know they use different brackets(2.3 has flanges to connect electric fan)but thats about all. Help!

I believe that the 5.0 rad is bigger, more heavy duty. The 2.3 fan would work for a 5.0 but its not recomended

The radiators are the same from '87 to '93 from '86 and lower it depends. some cars have the one row radiator and some have the two row. I have only seen a 1 row mainly in the '86 and lower 2.3's.

why isn't a 2.3 fan not recommened for 5.0 rad, news to me, I've been running a motorsport 3 row like that for a couple of years now without a problem. runs nice and cooler than it did before.

If you re-read what he said, he is saying the 2.3 fan is not sufficient for the 5.0 (engine, not radiator).
The air that the 2.3 fan pulls is not enough to cool a 5.0.
A friend tried it on his car with one of my spares, and it got hot and stayed hot.

ok I see what your saying, but still see the other side on how it is written,i figured the thread is the difference between 2.3 and 5.0 rads not fans, not engines, and that is how I read it.I wasn't trying flame on anyone.I just wanted to know why?

I meant the radiator, specifically the overall dimensions and the water inlet/outlet. Getting a Summit aluminum rad tommorrow, my stock one bought the farm.
