So I've been having some problems with my vacuum lines, but I think maybe I've got it worked out as far as the engine goes. The only thing left (and incidentaly the problem that started it all) is my HVAC controls. They only run through the defrost vent. I believe the problem is that the original vacuum line coming from the engine compartment to the controls is gone. I believe it comes out of the little check valve on the passenger side of the engine attached to the firewall. This valve is where the ac line from the vacuum block on the other side of the engine (for brakes, cruise, etc) comes in. The other port goes to the reserve canister, the final one I have blocked off. I think it goes to the HVAC controls.

So here is the question, where does it go through the fire wall? I know I could take the dash apart and look for it, but I would like to see if the line is just broken off somewhere so I can just extend it first.

The line enters the cabin there at the evaporator lines. You will see the foam there. If you cannot see the line, it has possibly slipped into the heater box.

I would think of just running another source line from the check valve to the cabin controls if the above is the case.

Thanks, I got a little impatient earlier today and ran another line in from the cabin. It's working now.
