so i got an engine that i know nothing about the specs but it runs.

It has a system max II on it. with holly heads and unknown cams, roller rockers and unknown springs.

this is my problem I need new valve covers cause it has some plastic ones that are cracked on the bolt hole and leaking oil.

i tried to buy this one off CL but it didn;t clear my rockers

Ford Racing Performance Parts - [Part Details]

so what type of valve covers do i need? any suggestions??

How much more clearance do you need. maybe a thicker gasket would work if its not that much off??

not many covers fit the systemax kit, Ive tried like 6 different sets, only 2 worked outta 6, haha. I have some vintage ones (similar to the ones you posted, but say "powered by ford") that will definitely fit I'll sell if your interested.

not like i know why it says hartman inside the cover and it has a compcam sticker on the top.

this is the heads themselves. part number.

By null at 2010-05-03

but this is the shot of the lunati rockers.

what do the numbers mean?

not sure what the 60 and 8 mean, the 1.60 means they are 1.6 ratio arms. the covers I have will definitely work, I have crane energzer rockers which are even bigger than those.

oh the harland/comp covers arnt plastic, they're made outta something called polymere I think, but yeah I have heard they crack real easy.

Apparently you have never owned a Systemax Intake. High rise covers wont work, unless you get a spacer.

got off the phone with summit before i saw your post but you are correct. i would need a spacer with high rise covers. yet i'm not sure if they would work anyways. i think the problem with the ford covers in the picture was that the rocker or spring was hitting the indention where the bolt was.

if high rise covers do fit. i'd have to do like you said and get a spacer. that will then make me have to get a cowl hood.

I live in hawaii i don't want to pay to ship a cowl hood here just cause i got high covers.

i have to call summit back tomorrow when their tech dept is open.

thanks for the help guys. if any of you have part numbers that will work great.

and to the guy offering to sell thank you but i'll pass. i'd like to get new covers.

use the stock valvers from a 94-95 5.0 or from a 96-01 explorer/mountaineer.

They are the same stampings as the 93-5 cobra and WILL CLEAR your roller rockers and fit under the intake since they are the same height as stock VC's.

That's a common problem with those valve covers. The indent steps in too much.

I went the stock valve cover route myself. Just had them powder coated.
